When my wife and I moved to Hong Kong, the city was everything we'd hoped for. Then she started job hunting.

We quickly hit a wall nobody had warned us about. Most listings — even roles she was perfectly qualified for — required Cantonese or Mandarin fluency. Sometimes stated upfront, often buried in the details, sometimes only revealed at interview stage.

We spent weeks sifting through thousands of listings, filtering out role after role for a reason that had nothing to do with her qualifications.

It was exhausting. So my brother and I built the site we wished had existed when we arrived. Every listing on ExpatJobBoard is filtered for English-language roles — no surprises, no wasted applications.
