Associate Director, CRE Portfolio Management

Job Description

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, CRE Portfolio Management. In this role you will: • Drive sustainable CRE origination in CIB Asia and Middle East: Support origination across CIB Asia and Middle East aligned with the Bank's strategy, ensuring exposures remain within caps and distribution initiatives are delivered responsibly. • Strengthen portfolio monitoring: Enhance regional and in-country portfolio oversight by partnering closely with stakeholders including Wholesale Credit Risk and business teams. • Ensure policy and risk discipline: Embed consistent implementation of real estate policies, procedures, and guidelines across CIB CRE business, with effective management of property lending and reputational risk. • Manage operational and emerging risks: Identify, assess, and manage operational risks (including due diligence and data quality), considering evolving market conditions, legal/regulatory requirements, operating practices, and technology impacts. • Act as CRE subject matter expert: Represent regional CIB CRE Asia and Middle East business, contributing to portfolio reviews, projects, and relevant forums; support timely risk identification and prepare monthly CRE updates to management. • Support regulatory reporting integrity: Ensure data consistency, reconciliation, and readiness for regulatory reporting requirements. • Engage on risk models and incentives: Partner with Risk and policy owners on the use and calibration of risk models to ensure appropriate risk reflection and the right behaviours to support sustainable growth. • Enable client and relationship outcomes: Support revenue and asset growth by helping countries deploy the HSBC balance sheet effectively for priority clients and relationships. • Enhance transaction quality: Provide expert input to strengthen proposed CCM transactions, ensuring full consideration of the transactional wallet, risk/return dynamics and distribution options. • Improve management information: Establish robust business reporting, performance tracking, and risk metrics/dashboards to improve management visibility, support strategy execution, and inform decision-making.
