Job Description

The Department of Physics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology invites applications for several tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We seek candidates in several areas of theoretical and computational physics including, but not limited to, statistical physics (including AI related physics) and large-scale simulation of quantum many-body systems. An applicant must possess a PhD degree in physics or related field and demonstrate a strong track record of research in theoretical and/or computational physics. Appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or above will also be considered for candidates with exceptional records of research excellence and academic leadership. In addition to pursuing a vibrant research program, an appointee will be expected to engage in effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
