The OpportunityWe are a multi-location children's activity organization known for strong programs and a family-first culture. We are hiring a Regional Director whose singular focus is our coaching staff - recruiting the right people, training them well, and building the kind of teaching environment that keeps great coaches with us for years.This role is for someone who lives and breathes coaching development. You do not need to be an executive with P&L experience. You do need to know what excellent instruction looks like, how to teach it to others, and how to build a team culture that pulls talent in and holds onto it.Why this role mattersOur coaches are the product. Families stay because of the coach their child bonds with. Every hour you invest in coach quality shows up in retention and word of mouth.Real ownership of a defined domain. You own coaching hiring, training, and development across five gyms - not a slice of one location.Room to build something. We have solid coaches today, but no formal certification ladder, no consistent onboarding across locations, and no dedicated leader of coaching quality. That is your canvas.A supportive structure. The owner handles business strategy. A Director of Operations will handle enrollment and location P&L. Your job is coaches - full stop.What success looks likeA consistent, documented onboarding program every new coach completes in their first 30 days across all five gyms.An internal coaching certification ladder (Coach I, II, III, Lead Coach) with clear skills, pay bands, and advancement criteria.Measurable improvement in coach retention - fewer resignations in the first six months, more coaches promoting into lead roles.A steady pipeline of qualified coach applicants, so we are hiring from strength rather than scrambling to fill open shifts.Quarterly coach observations at every location, with written feedback and development plans for each coach.What you'll ownHiring. Sourcing, interviewing, and hiring new coaches. Building the pipeline through local networks, colleges, programs, and former athletes.Onboarding. A repeatable first-30-days program that every new coach goes through - safety, spotting, curriculum, class management, family communication.Ongoing training. Consistent staff training, in-service days, safety recertifications, and skill progressions. Bringing in outside expertise when useful.Coach development. Regular observations, one-on-ones, and written development plans. Identifying future lead coaches and program managers.Culture and retention. The everyday things that make coaches want to stay - recognition, scheduling fairness, feedback, and a real career path inside our organization.Program quality. Working with location leads to make sure classes are consistent, safe, and progressing kids the way parents expect.Who we're looking forRequired experience:5+ years coaching dance, gymnastics, cheer, swim, or a closely related movement discipline - with real hands-on experience at multiple skill levels.2+ years leading or training other coaches, whether as a head coach, program director, facility manager, or coaching coordinator.Comfort actively leading lessons several days a week across multiple locations - this is not a desk job.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel among our gyms regularly.You'll thrive here if you:Genuinely love developing other coaches and see it as more rewarding than coaching kids directly.Are organized enough to run a training calendar, track certifications, and document what you teach.Give direct, kind feedback and hold people to real standards without burning them out.Care about safety and technique the way great coaches do - obsessively.Want a stable, full-time career with opportunities for growth.Are innovative, have leadership tendencies, posess strategic insight, and beleive in the relentless pursuit of excellence!
