The Role The role of a Trainee Loss Adjuster involves desk‑based and on‑site investigation, evaluation, and management of insurance claims. The role will require you to provide an efficient and high‑quality liability claims handling service for various insurers. You will provide direct support to policy holders, interview witnesses, and report to insurers regarding the claim investigation findings. You will initially be employed as a Trainee Loss Adjuster, with a view to become a fully‑fledged Loss Adjuster as soon as possible. Charles Taylor will provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship, as well as subsidies for Loss Adjusting examinations and professional qualifications. Key Responsibilities • Perform a loss adjusting function in respect of new claims and those already handled in the offices which have been delegated by Senior Adjusters / Adjusters. This will involve, but not be limited to: • Assisting with receiving and acknowledging new claims instructions • Assisting with managing and coordinating claims in a timely and professional manner • Assisting with on‑site visits, meeting with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, claimants, insureds and other interested parties • Assisting with attending accident sites for investigation • Assisting with preparation of preliminary reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum and future actions • Assisting in providing instruction to surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as necessary • Assisting in handling regular communication with all interested parties, calculations for interim payments, preparation of interim reports and other communications • Assisting with calculations, negotiations and agreements in the settlement of claims, and preparation of accurate final reports • Assist with marketing and client engagement activities to ensure effective marketing of Charles Taylor Adjusting. This will include, but not be limited to: • Assisting with developing working relationships with existing clients • Helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients • Assisting with hosting and attending networking events outside of office hours • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations and tenders to clients and potential clients • Assisting other teams and the wider business with marketing activities • Carry out ad hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post • Demonstrate and champion Charles Taylor values by ensuring agility, integrity, care, accountability and collaboration Required Skills • Excellent English language skills (written, spoken and aural) • University degree qualified, with preferred discipline in engineering or law • Enthusiasm and commitment towards developing a career as a Loss Adjuster • 0–2 years of relevant post‑graduate experience, working in a relevant field or industry, and / or experience working in a general insurance claims or adjusting environment • Willingness to undertake further professional study for Loss Adjusting certification • Strong focus on customer service excellence at all times • High attention to detail and analytical skills • Microsoft Office literacy Equal Opportunity Employer
