My client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Underwriting for their Property & Casualty division. This role will be responsible for leading the underwriting team, overseeing policy evaluation, and developing strategies to optimize our underwriting processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the insurance market, possess excellent analytical skills, and have a proven track record of managing teams in a dynamic environment. Job Responsibilities: • Manage and mentor a team of underwriters, providing guidance on complex underwriting decisions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. • Develop and implement underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures to enhance productivity and profitability within the Property & Casualty lines. • Evaluate risk profiles for new and existing policies, making recommendations based on data analysis, market trends, and stakeholder input. • Work closely with sales, actuarial, and claims teams to ensure alignment on underwriting strategies and risk management practices. • Stay informed about market developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting practices and strategic decisions. • Monitor and analyze the performance of the underwriting portfolio, making adjustments as necessary to achieve financial goals. • Lead training initiatives to enhance the technical skills of the underwriting team and ensure adherence to best practices. • Prepare and present reports on underwriting performance, including key metrics and insights, to senior management and stakeholders.
