Seafreight GM, HK (FLC & LCL, consilidation)

Job Description

• The Seafreight Manager will be responsible for organizing the Seafreight unit, in team and reporting to the MD, HK and dotted line to the Sea Segment Leader of the Greater China. • This is a new position, the candidate shall re-organize the seafreight procurement, operations and customer service by finding efficiencies within the current structure (which is also utilizing Mainland service centers) and allowing more effective product marketing by allowing to select the best possible solutions available for each tradelane. • The candidate should be able to explore & identify efficiencies and drive a new organization of work in seafreight operations, procurement and customer service in Hong Kong. • Achieve agreed volume and revenue targets, expand the customer base by evolving the product portfolio. Promote staff engagement and nurture talent within the teams. • Build a winning team, select the members for long term success and prepare internal candidates for succession plans. • Lead the product and procurement by managing the local procurement teams and taking the lead in key negotiations with carriers and coloaders supporting the procurement in the mainland where their buying power is greater. • Control the best possible setup for each valuable tradelane with a mix of direct deals with carriers & coloaders in Hong Kong. • To monitor performance of carriers/ co-loaders/ sub-contractors in terms of productivity, quality and service, data, incident handling, including but not limited to initiate, implement and control corrective actions. • Prefer candidate: experienced in managing sizable team of over 30ppl.
