Enterprise Mainframe Storage Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Mainframe Storage Engineer to manage and support enterprise storage infrastructure within a large-scale banking environment. The role focuses on maintaining high availability, performance, security, and efficient utilization across mission-critical mainframe storage platforms. Candidates with prior banking or financial services experience will be highly preferred. Responsibilities • Design, implement, configure, and support IBM z/OS storage environments and related subsystems • Administer and maintain IBM DFSMS, DFSMSdss, DFSMSrmm, DFHSM, and associated storage components • Manage enterprise storage platforms including IBM DS8000, TS7700 Virtual Tape Systems, and SAN infrastructure • Configure and maintain SMS policies, storage groups, ACS routines, and related storage management processes • Support virtual tape environments, tape management systems, and backup operations • Perform system maintenance activities including PTF implementation, upgrades, and migration support for z/OS storage components • Support disaster recovery initiatives including replication configuration, FlashCopy, and Global Mirror activities • Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX, CLIST, ISPF, and JCL • Manage catalog environments including master catalogs, user catalogs, and catalog recovery processes • Monitor storage performance, analyze utilization trends, and support capacity planning activities • Implement and maintain RACF security controls for storage resources • Prepare and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and support ITIL-related processes Show More
